P&P-DCD
Precise die-cut dispensing for stable, flexible, and easy-to-integrate automation processes.
What Is the P&P-DCD?
The P&P-DCD detects die-cuts on the roll liner and positions each one at a defined pick point for the machine-side gripper to pick.
- Self-contained unit with no external control cabinet or pneumatics required
- Positions parts precisely at a defined pick point for the machine-side gripper
- Automatic liner retraction after each pick
- Multi-dispenser mode: up to 4 die-cut pads in parallel

Why Pick & Place Instead of Direct Application?
When the set point, part geometry, or cell layout rule out direct application, the P&P-DCD provides a pick-and-place alternative. It complements the i-DCA rather than replacing it.
- An alternative when direct robot-mounted application isn't feasible.
- Ideal for hard-to-reach glue positions or complex geometries where a robot-mounted gripper has limited room to maneuver.
- Works with your existing pick-and-place gripper or robot cell.
- Fits process and accessibility requirements the i-DCA cannot address.
- More economical for many part variants than adding another robot with an i-DCA pair.

How Is the Dispensing Process Monitored?
Real-time monitoring of material consumption and pick reliability keeps the process under control at all times.
- Automatic tape-break detection
- Precise die-cut position detection for reproducible robot programming
- Real-time consumption and process data via fieldbus
- Optional camera-based position correction (e.g. SensoPart) for higher-accuracy requirements

How Is High System Availability Achieved?
Redundant dispenser pairs keep the line running: while one dispenses, the other can be reloaded or serviced (typically within 1–2 minutes) without stopping production or adding any switchover delay.
- Two-unit or four-unit tower configurations for redundant supply
- Tower can form part of the robot cell's safety fencing
- Operates without compressed air, in a fully enclosed housing
- Four brushless servo drives for reliable, low-heat continuous operation
- Centralized energy and fieldbus distribution through the tower, with each unit individually serviceable without opening the robot cell

How Fast Can Parts Be Dispensed?
The P&P-DCD dispenses each die-cut in about 1 second, with liner removal and next-part positioning independently adjustable.
- Multi-dispense mode: several die-cuts fed together in one cycle for shorter overall cycle time
- Liner removal ≈ 0.3 s · Next-part positioning ≈ 0.7 s

Which Materials Can Be Processed?
The P&P-DCD works with die-cuts from any manufacturer, adapting to different shapes and materials with automatic centering for reproducible gripping.
Adjustable die-cut diameter / liner width up to 100 mm
Explicitly supports double-sided adhesive pads, not just single-sided die-cuts
Material roll diameter up to 400 mm
Core diameter 3" (76.2 mm) or 6" (152.4 mm)

How Is the P&P-DCD Integrated Into the Line?
The P&P-DCD connects via a fieldbus interface, with pick position, material dimensions, and installation space flexibly matched to your line. An integrated controller handles the device's internal functions, so the line PLC doesn't need to replicate them individually.
- PROFINET or EtherNet/IP communication with the line controller
- Settings entered on the integrated touch display or loaded centrally from the higher-level control
- Reduces programming, validation, and commissioning effort during line integration
